Space Ships are sometimes found in star systems and are marked as "Beacon, Abandoned Ship" in the solar system view. They seem to always be found in mint condition with 100% fuel, oxygen, and hull, as well as the starter technologies (except if it's a lost ship from previous run - then one meter is at 0% and slots intact or a human ship). Space Ships can be left and returned to without their contents or status changing. This makes them useful as resource caches and for mining local resources without using the resources of your main ship. They can also be turned into resurrection/continue-points with the Stellar Embryo tech.

Space Ships are sometimes found with new and unknown technologies on board, but taking over a new ship and/or dismantling the system will not allow you to learn the new technologies. The installed ship-systems will also usually require some optimization or rearranging to take proper advantage of synergies, as they seem to be initially randomly placed (e.g. engines often not adjacent to engine boosters, telescope not beside gravity-lens, etc).

Below is a list of all the currently discovered Space Ships along with their basic Specs. The player will start each game with the Nomad. Note that aside from different Power/Eco/Resist levels, different ships can also be hull-repaired or refueled by different elements, as well as requiring different elements (not yet listed) to repair damaged ship-slots. Some of these differences can have a great impact on the way your game unfolds.

  1. Cargo: slots available (with Symbiotic Extension module)
  2. Power: Space Folder base power, affects max jumping distance and/or fuel consumption.
  3. Ecosystem: the more - the slower oxygen is drained.
  4. Resistance: the more - the less hull is reduced at gas and garden planet visits.
